Deer Management Plan:  

The DNR has authorized 15 deer be culled from the deer herds within the city.  A hunt was held on January 18th with 7 deer tagged.  During the hunt held February 1st, no deer were taken.  The next hunt date will be Friday, February 24th, notifcations will be posted at the parks advising of the event. 

Emergency Notification System The CodeRed™ system provides city officials with the ability to provide pre-recorded emergency telephone notification/information messages to targeted areas or the entire city.  Residents and businesses are encouraged to sign up for CodeRed™ to be sure they receive timely emergency notifications when alerts are issued. DATA PRACTICE POLICY & REQUEST FORMS

 Minnesota state law - chapter 156 of the Session Laws of 2005 - requires that "a city or county with a

population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its 

three highest-paid employees." For the City of Owatonna, titles and salaries as of January 1, 2011 are:

                                                  City Administrator - $100,425

                                                  City Engineer - $92,642

                                                  Chief of Police - $91,227
